This element is really difficult for people to understand. And I know exactly how they think! When I was told this, I rejected it. Why would I want to do this to myself? It did not make sense.

But at the end of the day regardless of how much I tried to ignore that fact, it was accurate, my thoughts where the basis of my anxiety. I experimented with it. The higher I focused my energy on the worry the stronger my anxiety attack became. So with the assistance of a therapist, I was able to work on my thoughts and defeat my nervousness.

It would be a lie to say I am nervousness free, however I'm much more able to deal with anxiety, I've more coping strategies. Coping with anxiety is now much simpler for me.

Another to bear in mind, is that anxiety may be unpleasant, but it is not always a difficult thing. This nervousness can help up be alert, the adrenalin can keep us focused. When anxiety is relentless, when it interferes with relationships and activities-that's when you've crossed the line from normal anxiety into the territory of anxiety disorders.
